Haptek, maker of People Putty and the Haptek player

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

VRML 2.0 browsers were becoming a standard plugin for web browsers back in the late 90s. Arround mid 2000 I became aware of a new promising product.
Haptek was a small firm located in Santa Cruz. They specialized in 3D presentations for large corporate conventions, but started making some of their tools and content available to the public.
Mostly in the form of talking heads. Though lacking a body the heads had a couple of things that vrml did not offer natively. They could lip sink from text or an audio file, they had some pyhsics built so that hair would move naturally with the movement of the head and they had expressions built in, all the user need to do was initalize them.
Still pretty much just a bodiless head, they are cool to play around with as some of the demos above should prove.
Take some time to view the full body demo. Haptek decided to release a couple of their full body figures to the public a couple of years ago. Remember though, you will need to Download the Hapteck Player to view any of this content.
